Music as Puppetry is a whimsical, all-ages interdisciplinary performance by Jocelyn Mah and James Watson blending live violin, contemporary dance, and mask theatre. Born from a collaborative process where choreography and music were developed side by side, the story follows "Violon", a marionette doll, as she resists the control of the Maestro and discovers freedom through play. The work invites audiences of all ages to reflect on creativity, autonomy, and human connection.
After the performance, audience members of all ages will be invited to join in a short movement exploration, as well as an up-close look at the work’s exquisite costumes, mask and puppet. Questions and photos welcome!
